PUZZLE MAGNET

"Close up" collection

The idea arose from the trencadís technique.

Trencadís is the creation of a mosaic from broken ceramic pieces. We wanted the end user to experience this technique so we reproduced, by photography, a fragment of trencadís and “broke it” into different pieces.

We photographed fragments of trencadís from Park Güell in Barcelona. The closer we got with the camera, the pieces of pottery and household crockery from the early 20th century became more evident.

Once the photograph is printed, we mount it on foam and a magnetic sheet, then we “break” the entire piece by cutting it along the cement joints of the image. We realized that not only were we creating a puzzle, but we were also reproducing ceramic pieces from the last century.

After playing with trencadís, we searched for more techniques (in architecture) that would suit this product and user interaction. We found the nazarí tiles of the Alhambra in Granada and the stained glass of the main rosette window of the Cathedral of Mallorca. These are techniques based on geometry, but the final product meets the requirements: you can dedicate yourself to assembling the final image or create new figures by playing with the pieces that are reproductions of fragments of time.

"Far away" collection

A new perspective, a new product.

Here we offer the typical image, the whole. The image of the monument. A distant view.

But it’s not just an image, it’s our photograph, taken after spending a whole morning at Park Güell or two days in Granada. A photograph of a journey.

When you play with a puzzle magnet from “far away” you want to solve the image, complete the dragon of the park or the pinnacle of the Sagrada Familia, but you can also use and play with the pieces separately creating your own shapes.
